We produce both cost-effective purpose-made packaging as well as exclusive wooden cases, wooden caskets and wooden boxes to show your products in their best light. We manufacture our products specific to customer requirements exclusively at our site in Rietheim-Weilheim. Our client base ranges from companies specialising in measurement, tool, electrical and medical technology, and manufacturers and retailers of luxury foods and tobacco right through to businesses in the ceramics and building materials industry.
Since the company was founded back in 1880 it has grown from a workshop into a modern family-run company where industrial manufacturing processes and craftsmanship unite for the utmost efficiency. Extensive consulting expertise, streamlined processes and a high degree of vertical integration form the basis for the distinctive identity of our products. In production, qualified craftspeople ensure the sustainability of the materials being processed and that only the highest quality wooden packaging leaves the production site in Rietheim-Weilheim.
Our history at a glance
Company founded as a wagon-making company by Jakob Dreher (1855 – 1946).
Production was primarily of agricultural transportation carts and wagon wheels made of wood.
Takeover and expansion
The company is taken over by his son Isidor Dreher (1905 – 1957) who expanded activities to include the manufacture of banisters and the series production of wooden picket fences. Occasionally cases were manufactured for the medical technology industry in and around Tuttlingen.
Takeover
After Isidor Dreher’s death in an accident his son Reinhold Dreher (1936 – 1963) takes over the company and continues to run the business.
Reinhold Dreher also falls victim to a traffic accident.
Reinhold Dreher also falls victim to a traffic accident. His mother Klara Dreher (1908 – 1981) and brother Elmar Dreher continue to run the company as joint heirs.
Elmar Dreher takes over the company.
Gradual specialisation in the manufacture of all kinds of wooden packaging.
Company is renamed and given its current name, Elmar Dreher GmbH.
In the following years specific investments in production technology, processes and building lay the foundations for further growth.
Company handed over to son Ralf Dreher.
